MAKING MEMORIES GOES RETRO: THE RE-BIRTH OF METAL
New Embellishments Revitalize Iconic Trend
Anaheim, CA (CHA Winter Show – Booth #1951) January 24, 2010 – Metal. It’s the substance that put Making Memories on the scrapbooking map. Nearly eight years ago, the renowned craft supply manufacturer first introduced metal embellishments to the industry. Today, the company goes “retro” with a new take on metal for contemporary crafters.
“Our retailers have wanted another metal collection for some time, but we waited until we could craft it in our current design aesthetic,” says Danielle Davies, Making Memories product manager. “It was worth the wait! Everything has a more ornate, rich feel; this line truly represents the best of old and new brought together.”
Making Memories’ new Metal Embellishments collection features details that include:
- Deco Brads: These two-tone metallic shimmer brads, packaged in sets of 12, are embellished with gems or pearls, and are available in Gold, Antique Copper or Silver.
- Eclectic Metal Signs: Each package of these delightful accents feature four different metal signs finished in epoxy metal, gems, or glitter. The signs are available in nine themes including Birthday, Love, Memories, Travel, Wedding, Girl, Bliss and Friends.
- Embossed Charms: Thin, dog-tag style antique charms hang daintily from a jump ring and are embossed with words and embellishments. Each package contain five to six charms, some of which are outfitted with delicate flowers and other details, and are available in six themes including Birthday, Friends, Love, Memories, Sentiments and Teen.
- Metal Flowers: Like sugar flowers from an elegant cake, these small painted metal accents are available in White, Pink, Yellow and Purple, and are finished with a gem center.
- Metal Frames: These embellished, ornate frames are finished in a brushed brass and sparkle with gem and pearl accents.
- Metal Pendants:: Embossed and laser-cut plaques and keys are topped off with brown and pink vintage ribbon to create these precious project accents.
- Pagemarks: Vintage bookmarks-meet-jewelry in this luscious combination of velvet and textured ribbons accented with antique charms and brooch-inspired centerpieces.
Making Memories’ new Metal Embellishments (MSRP: $2.99 to $3.99) will begin shipping to independent craft and national hobby stores nationwide in Spring 2010. For more information visit www.makingmemories.com.
