SLICE “APPS” EXPAND DEVICE’S GROUNDBREAKING PERFORMANCE
Anaheim, CA (CHA Winter Show – Booth #1951) January 24, 2010 – Any iPhone owner knows that as fun and functional as their gadget may be, the machine’s apps are where the real excitement lives. Such is the case with Making Memories’ Slice Cordless Digital Designer. Originally introduced as a handheld die-cutting machine, the expanded availability of new “apps” has turned the device into an all-in-one mobile design shop.
This year, Making Memories is releasing two new applications that work within the Slice, now making the machine both a drawing and a laser-fine gluing solution.
Glitter effects are always charming on projects and page layouts, but often can lack the finesse so many crafters desire. With the Slice’s new Glue Tips, any shape or font available through Making Memories’ 46 Design Cards can be reproduced with a light layer of glue. The process is just the same as cutting; with the glue tip installed, crafters simply scroll through the design options, select a size between one and four inches large, and push a button. The glue is “drawn” onto any surface, and is ready to accept a fine glitter to complete the professional, finished look.
Making Memories’ drawing solutions also are as easy to use as the cutting blades. Simply replace the blade with one of the Slice’s new Ball Point or felt Drawing tips (available in a combined total of 16 different colors), and allow the machine to re-create any design desired.
The Slice Glue, Ball Point, and Drawing Tips join Making Memories’ “apps” series which also includes Cutting Tips, Embossing Tips, plus Mirroring and Shadowing capabilities.
