Company Enters Popular Category with Celebrated Jewelry Designer Jill Schwartz
 
            Anaheim, CA (CHA Winter Show – Booth #1951) January 24, 2010 – Jill Schwartz has come a long way since she resorted to gluing beads to her ears, when she was not yet allowed to have them pierced. Today, the lifelong jewelry lover and renowned designer has joined forces with internationally acclaimed craft manufacturer Making Memories in introducing her first signature line of jewelry supplies.
            Simple sophistication meets antique-style findings in the new Vintage Groove collection. This gorgeous array of elements including beads, charms, strands, pendants, connectors and tools are designed for the enjoyment of first-time jewelry makers, or long time professional artisans.
            “There’s a tremendous harmony between scrapbooking and jewelry making,” explains Making Memories VP of Marketing Keith Willes.  “What we’ve discovered, though, is that many scrapbookers fear the learning curve with intricate jewelry stringing and compilation. With our new Jill Schwartz Vintage Groove collection, we’ve simplified the construction so creative designers can piece together extraordinarily personalized jewelry for a third of the cost – or less – at retail.”
            Jill Schwartz’s “deconstructed vintage” jewelry has been worn by celebrities for years and touted in magazines including InStyle, Lucky, Teen Vogue and Redbook, among others.  She joined forces with the designers at Making Memories late last year to begin crafting a collection of jewelry elements that anyone can understand, use, and construct quickly and with gorgeous results.

            In addition to Alpha Charms that can be used to create monograms or personalized accessories, the Vintage Groove line features all the accoutrements of jewelry making, packaged and displayed to maximize design simplicity. A series of “Designer Kits” have been hand-picked by Jill and the Making Memories team that – similar to the company’s coordinated scrapbooking programs – look beautiful alone, or come together to complete a rich, layered look.
            Naturally to help aid the creation process, Making Memories and Jill Schwartz are releasing a jointly authored idea book, filled with plenty of inspiration and instruction.
