Revolutionary Consumer Electronic Device to Debut at Craft & Hobby Show
Anaheim, CA (CHA Winter Show – Booth #1951) January 24, 2010 – Just a few weeks ago, blogs were abuzz about all of the new gadgets emerging from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). What they don’t know is that the real technological revolution is being introduced this week at the Craft and Hobby Show (CHA) in Anaheim, where Making Memories has revealed its state-of-the-art Hands-Free Slice Cordless Digital Designer.
After its introduction this time last year, the Slice quickly became the industry phenomenon, selling nearly 10,000 units thus far. The concept enabled crafters to digitally cut, emboss, or draw thousands of shapes through a cordless digital machine that users held in place on top of a page, while the machinery worked below. However, with the help of the new Slice Hands-Free Kit, operators will be able to push a button and walk away while the machine takes care of the rest.
“The new hands-free Slice is a multitasker’s dream-come-true,” says Ryan Pattee, Making Memories’ Slice product manager. “We know that time is our most precious commodity. With the Slice’s new the hands-free technology, we’re literally cutting design time in half, at the very least!”
The Hands-Free Kit includes a magnetized collar that slips around any existing Slice, as well as a complementary 12” x 12” magnetized mat that accommodates digital cutting blades, drawing tips or glue tips on one side, and embossing tips on the other. The strong magnets attract one another on the board, enabling crafters to select their design, push a button, and be free.
To celebrate the Slice Hands-Free technology, Making Memories also is introducing a “Be Free / Hands Free” promotion, in which the company will award four lucky recipients with a sleek, sporty Vespa scooter in either pink or turquoise.*
Wendy Bretz, designer for Making Memories, has been anxious to let her friends know about the Vespas – and the new Slice – for months. “Cute, liberating, fast – it’s the definition of a perfect gadget.” she says. “Forget the Bluetooth or eReaders. The Slice proves that the real technology is right here at CHA!”
In addition, Making Memories also will be giving away 200 Slice Design Cards and 100 Slice Handbags through the promotion, which ends Summer 2010.
